Lead the New Library in La Conner, Washington

Can you take to new heights the La Conner Swinomish Library, which breaks ground in 2020? Do you have the passion and drive to inspire and lead a project that has amazing community support? Are you looking for an opportunity to enhance a commitment to service for a diverse multicultural community?  Do you have a demonstrated record of working well with a board of trustees, community groups, and staff?  Can you work successfully with other libraries, as well as city, county and state officials and local businesses?

The La Conner Regional Library Board of Trustees is seeking a vibrant library director to provide input to the design and construction process of the new library, to transform the library’s programming and culture to better meet the changing needs of the communities it serves, and to champion the increasingly important role of the library as a community center – a destination for lifelong discovery and inspiration.

Set in the historic district of La Conner, Washington, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and located on the Salish Sea between Vancouver BC and Seattle, the La Conner Regional Library District serves a population of over 5,000 residents. A small town situated on the banks of the Swinomish Channel and bordered by some of the world’s most productive and valuable farmland, La Conner is a community that values culture, the arts, history and education.  We’re proud of the community support and partnerships with the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community, Skagit County and the State of Washington that are making possible a 21st Century library scheduled to open in 2021.
