• Disrupts the intended use of the Internet
• Wastes any resources through such actions
• Violates, compromises, or destroys the integrity of any Library computer based information
• Compromises the privacy of any user
• Disrupts the Library environment
• Is illegal.

I will be responsible for any costs incurred as a result of my Internet activities, including the costs of all printouts produced on Library printers.

I will not use the computers for unlawful purposes. I understand that the transmission of any material in violation of any U.S. or state regulation is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, threatening or obscene material or any copyrighted or otherwise protected material.

I agree to hold harmless the LaConner Regional Library for any and all claims of any nature arising from my use or inability to access these services.

Knowing that the Internet, including email is currently an unregulated resource, I understand that I use information obtained via this service at my own risk, and that the Library offers no guarantee as to the accuracy or validity of information obtained through the Internet.

I will observe all copyright laws which might apply to files, software, or other resources on the Internet.

I will observe the posted rules governing use of the Library’s Internet hardware and software.

I will take proper care of all equipment and will report any problem with the hardware or software immediately to a library staff member.

PARENT’S PERMISSION FOR MINORS TO USE THE INTERNET
AT THE LACONNER REGIONAL LIBRARY

As a parent/guardian of the below listed minor user under the age of 18, I recognize that the Internet is unregulated and cannot be regulated. I agree to instruct my minor dependent in standards for acceptable use, including websites visited, chat rooms, instant messaging and email. If there are areas of materials I do not wish my child to access, I will outline those areas for my child and personally supervise, or hold him/her responsible for upholding the standards I set. I will not expect the library staff to supervise, limit, censor, or regulate my child in any manner. I will be responsible for any Library hardware or software damage caused by my child, and assure that all Library policies are adhered to. I further understand that my child MUST present his/her Library Card when requesting use of a computer so that the Library can confirm that this parental/guardian permission has been specifically granted.

In addition to the above, I further agree to the guidelines listed below:

• It is required that users sign up in person at the time they wish to use the Internet computers during hours the Library is open.
• The Internet computers may be used for up to one-half hour if other users are waiting. (Two hours daily maximum otherwise).
• Use is on a first come, first served basis.
• Because space is limited around the computers, and to limit noise from group conversations and to respect the rights of other patrons who need quiet to study, only one person may use a work station at any given time.
• Information may be printed from the computers for 10 cents per page to be paid at the Circulation Desk on the honor system.
• Users will be charged for extra copies when the print button is pressed repeatedly.
• The Library staff has limited time to provide instruction to the public in use of the Internet on a daily basis. Classes are held regularly to instruct patrons in the use of the Internet. Sign up for these classes in advance is generally required.
• LaConner Regional Library reserves the right to restrict or terminate use of the Internet or library computers if patrons are being disruptive in using the Internet computers.
• It is prohibited to use the Internet or the library's computers for any purposes which violate local, state and/or federal laws. Unlawful use could result in the library taking legal action and the revocation of any Internet privileges.
